Prepare to Travel - A month to declutter - Day Fifteen - Outerwear
Updated: Jul 10, 2020
Welcome to day 15 of decluttering to free your home and your mind.
Outwear includes coats, jackets, jumpers, sweaters, hats, gloves etc. In my local supermarket yesterday there was a collection bin for donations of these items for the less fortunate. It was great to see so many donations that were destined to be reloved.
The word love is important. Do you really love that item of clothing?
1. Is it is good repair? If not, repair it or repurpose it.
2. Does it suit its purpose?
3. Is it something you feel good about wearing?
Using this three criteria guideline, it will be easy to declutter your clothing.
Either use it, recycle it, donate it, or throw it.
Last year I had a lovely handknitted woolen jumper (sweater) that was no longer stylish. I unravelled the wool and reknitted the wool into seven beanies. These I gave away to friends. It made me feel good to reuse this now unloved item of clothing into something that gave joy to myself and others.
